Merica sunglasses design and she sent me a photo of this one stitched onto a patriotic tee back in June and I wasnt quite prepared for how good it looked in person. The two lenses are doing completely different things visually and that contrast is kinda the whole point. Stars on the left, stripes on the right, and those two little floating stars between em at the nose bridge are the bit that makes you look twice.

The script reads 'Merica with the apostrophe at the front, big brush-style letters that lean forward a bit. Below that theres a blue decorative swash, a looping flourish thing that ties the whole composition off cleanly. Its a proper layered build, four colours running in sequence: red for the stripe accents and star, blue for the star field and the swash, white for the highlights and star fill, black last for the frame and lettering.

Pop a medium-weight cutaway under your fabric before hooping, the density is 620 here which is on the higher end for this type and the satin fills in the lens areas can drag on unsupported fabric. Four sizes: 5 x 4.83 inches (20,283 stitches), 6 x 5.79 inches (25,455 stitches), and up to 8 x 7.72 inches (38,332 stitches). The 6-inch is the one most people go with for a standard adult tee chest. Run colour stops in order and dont skip the white stop for the highlight arcs, they add alot to the gloss look of the lenses. Use a topping on knit fabrics so the star detail in the blue lens doesnt sink into the pile.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of July t-shirt and tank top chest designsCentre the 6-inch version on an adult tee chest, the lens stars and stripes read clean at normal viewing distance
  • Patriotic summer tote bags and beach bag frontsRun the 5-inch on a navy tote front, the white star highlights pop well against dark navy canvas
  • Independence Day kids outfit iron-on patchesStitch the 5-inch onto a pre-cut patch square and iron onto a kids denim jacket for an independence day outfit
  • Americana-themed hat front panel embroideryPlace the 6-inch on a structured cap front panel, stabilise well given the density of the star field lens fill
  • Memorial Day and Flag Day celebration apparelEmbroider the 8-inch version on a large canvas banner panel for a 4th of July porch or party table display
  • July 4th party favour pouches and gift bagsRun the 5-inch on a small cotton pouch front for a favour bag that matches a red, white, and blue party theme

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
