Heres the mermaid tail splash design. A lilac purple tail curls up the left side, the fluke breaks out the top with hot coral pink and teal streaks running through it, and a thin blue ring loops around the whole scene like a porthole. Little water droplets shoot off the bottom fluke aswell, like she'd just slapped the surface and dove.

The body of the tail is filled with a tiny fish-scale pattern, each scale outlined and lightly shaded so the curve actually reads as a curve and not a flat purple blob. Directional satin runs along the fin streaks so those coral and aqua tones flow with the motion. Clean.

I drew this one back in summer for a kids swim shop client who wanted something on tote bags and beach towels. Last month a customer told me she'd stitched it on her daughters birthday party shirt and the lil girl wouldnt take it off for two days. The frame shape ya get from the ring makes it real easy to drop a name or monogram inside.

Stitch on light cotton, white minky for baby blankets, or pale aqua jersey. Skip dark fabrics here because the lilac and teal both wash out on navy and black. If ya have to go dark, swap the lilac for a brighter magenta thread before running, itll punch through.

Density is moderate at five colours, so a medium cutaway stabiliser holds the scale fills clean on tee fabric. Use polyester thread for the pink streak, itll keep the punch through the wash. If anything pulls funny when ya hoop it just send me a quick screenshot.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
