Three colours sounds like it shouldnt be enough but this one really works. The red antlers arch up and over the script like a frame, the botanical cluster at the bottom fills the space without competing. Its the kind of design where the restraint is the point, nothing extra, nothing neon, just a clean Christmas arrangement in colours that work on almost any fabric colour you throw at it.
Use a cutaway stabiliser here, the antler satin and the dense foliage fill both need something solid underneath. The satin antlers run as one continuous section with the parallel fill direction set horizontally so the sheen catches the light when hooped straight on a garment. Avoid tearaway because it will let the registration drift on the botanical foliage which has a tight turn radius on the leaf tips. At 5 sizes from 2.41 to 5.15 inches wide the file covers a realy wide range, from a small patch or pocket embellishment up to a full front placement. Pick 40-weight thread for the fern areas to keep the stitches compact and avoid thread breakage on tight curves.
I get alot of requests around November for designs that work on both light and dark fabrics without needing a colour change, and this is one of the better answers to that because the red and black read clearly on cream, white, grey, navy and even dark green backgrounds. Customers have run it on denim jackets with good results, the leaf cluster holds detail well on heavier wovens when the hooping is tight.
