I love that the frame here is christmas lights, not holly, not pine sprigs, actual individual rounded bulbs in four different colors, red orange green and aqua, connected by thin white cord-lines forming the oval. The Merry Christmas script inside is done in a thin, almost ghostly white cursive, which means it reads differently depending on what fabric you stitch it on. On dark fabric the white text floats inside those colorful light bulbs and the whole thing looks genuinely like a lit sign. On light fabric the bulbs do most of the work and the text reads softer behind them.

Five sizes from 2.58 spanning 3.50 inches in the keychain version at just under 8,000 stitches, up to 5.52 x 7.50 inches at 16,033 stitches. The bulb shapes are individual satin-fill ovals so theyre crisp, and the cord lines between them are tight enough to hold without pulling. Lay tearaway behind wovens, pop cutaway under stretch fabrics. The aqua bulbs look brilliant on dark navy or black base fabric if youre going for that neon-lights feel, quite a different mood from the standard red-green palette.

One customer stitched the large size on a black velvet christmas stocking and sent photos, the four-color lights on black velvet looked exactly like real string lights switched on in a dark room. For velvet, stick washaway topping above the fabric with firm cutaway underneath, go slow on the machine speed and it stitches beautifully. On standard fabric the 4-inch size fits a sweatshirt chest well without being too large.
