Single-colour designs are tricky to get right -- you have to do all the work with stitch direction and density instead of relying on colour contrast to separate features. This messy bun girl is one that works, the face reads clearly from a distance even though its all one thread colour. The bun on top has directional satin stitches running in different angles to show the twisted layers of hair, and the flyaway strands around her face are individually stitched with a lil curve to them. Density is 747 which is moderately high, it gives the design body and stops it looking flat.

Five sizes, smallest is 2.29 by 3.5 inches at 9774 stitches, the largest is 4.91 by 7.5 inches at 27498 stitches. Use a medium cutaway stabiliser on most fabrics -- the underlay is doing alot of work holding the satin edges straight. Add a water-soluble topping on jersey and t-shirt knits so the fabric texture doesnt break through the satin sections. Stitch the large 4.91-inch version on a sweatshirt or hoodie chest for the strongest result. Avoid running the small 2.29-inch size on anything with a rough or loose weave, the fine flyaway strands need a clean base.

Fashion and beauty people love this one alot. Last october a customer emailed me to say she stitched the 4.91-inch version on a black sweatshirt in white thread and it honestly looked like a screen print from a distance, really clean result. Its also popular on makeup bags, canvas totes, and pouches. Email me if you have trouble with any of the five included sizes, send me message about which format you need and Ill get it to you straight away.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
