Its the word mimi in flowing cursive with a small heart either sitting at the tail of the final letter or floating just above the script. Tall narrow composition, so 6 sizes ranging from 0.66 inches across and 2.01 inches tall on small, going to 2.27 wide by 7.01 tall. Stitch counts open at 1152 on the tiny end, reaching 4350 at full scale, which means even the big version stitches fast. Single colour throughout, density 273, so its light enough on fabric that it wont stiffen a soft cotton or a knit.

This is one of those compact designs that gets used for pocket logos, mug cosy panels, shirt pockets, hat bands, and personalised grandma gifts. A customer reached out last Christmas saying she went with the 5-inch in pale gold on burgundy velvet ribbon and made bookmarks for her whole family with different grandmother names, mimi, nana, gram, she said mimi was the one that got the most comments. Hoop a lightweight tearaway stabiliser for wovens or a light cutaway for stretch, and because the stitch count is low you can even back this on a thin silk or chiffon without it going stiff.

Mapped in Wilcom with a clean running underlay that prevents the thin script strokes from pulling. Use 40wt thread for the sharpest letter edges on the cursive curves. Anything heavier than 40wt will make the letters look thick and blobby at the smaller sizes. Dont go below 60wt either, the coverage gets patchy. Stick to 40wt poly or rayon and youre fine.

Run a test stitch on a scrap first if youre using the 0.66-inch smallest size on a hat, the tiny lettering needs a properly tensioned machine to come out clean. Once its stitched and youre happy, share a photo with me if you get a chance, I love seeing where these end up. Text me through the shop messages if something doesnt look right and Ill help you fix it.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
