Mimi set in varsity block lettering, the kind you'd see on a college jacket or an athletic sweatshirt from the 60s. The letters are thick and tall, with a main satin fill, a contrasting colour outline, and a shadow layer that gives the text that 3D pop you get from proper collegiate lettering. 4 colours total, so theres a fill colour, an outline, a shadow, and an accent which is usually used on a small decorative element or drop shadow. Density sits at 499 stitches per sq inch which is solid for keeping the satin surface smooth and flat without the letters going rigid on soft fabric.

5 sizes from 1.57 wide by 4.01 tall on the small size, reaching 3.13 by 8.01 on the full size. Counts run 5844 up to 12514. Wilcom set the density for each colour layer so the fill lands first, then the outline sits on top cleanly without colour bleed between sections. Use a sturdy cutaway on any woven, and go heavier on jersey or fleece because the tall narrow format can pull fabric sideways if the hooping isnt firm. One customer ordered this last spring for a birthday present for their grandmother, they stitched the 3-inch version in burgundy and gold on a cream crewneck sweatshirt and said every person at the party asked where they got it. Thats the effect varsity lettering has, it reads expensive even when its simple.

Use 4 separate thread cones for the colour stops. Dont substitute a second thread for that 4th colour, its what makes the letters look genuinely deep. Best on sweatshirt fleece, cotton canvas, denim, or a ponte knit. Skip chiffon or anything sheer, the density will show through on the back and pull the fabric.

Best thread selection: pick a classic combo like navy fill with gold outline, crimson fill with white outline, or forest green with cream. Pair the shadow in a darker shade of the fill colour for maximum depth across the top layer.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
