Instead of one plain red filled heart, its thirty-ish individual mini hearts packed together so the silhouette reads as one big heart from a distance. Up close youre seeing all the separate pieces. Step back and its a bold red heart. Ive always liked how it reads differently depending on how far away youre standing, its a clever bit of construction for something thats only got one colour in it.

Each mini heart is sitting at a slightly different angle and theyre all different sizes. Some are barely a centimetre across on the small version, some are chunkier near the centre. Because theyre individually digitised in Wilcom EmbroideryStudio the satin fill angles vary, so the sheen shifts across the cluster and its got a dimensional quality even though its technically one colour with no shading. Density rides 677 per square inch and keeps the satin packed tight and the colour solid right to the edges of each tiny shape.

Five sizes from 1.39 by 1.51 inches up to 3.25 by 3.51 inches. Small sizes, deliberately. Its a detail design, not something youd centrepiece a whole garment around. Stitch counts stay low too, between about 3,600 on the smallest and 7,700 on the largest. Runs fast. Single colour load so theres no stopping mid-hoop for changes.

Last february a customer told me shed used the 2-inch version on a set of twelve napkins for a valentines dinner and people kept picking em up to look at them close. Thats the multi-heart trick working like its meant to. Its also great on a shirt pocket corner, a small gift pouch flap, or a handkerchief edge. Try it on blush pink linen if youd prefer something softer than the full-red-on-white punch.

Use a medium cutaway stabiliser, hoop tightly even on the small sizes because the dense satin can shift on loose fabric. Keep machine speed moderate and youll get clean crisp edges on every heart. Skip metallic red, the density doesnt play well with it. Standard 40wt polyester or rayon is what you want for the best sheen.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
