Minimal christmas tree but not in the way you'd expect. No ornaments, no star, no trunk poking out of the bottom. Just the tree itself, built from overlapping feathery branch sprigs, the kind of texture you'd see in a botanical illustration -- each branch a cluster of short cedar-like fronds stacked from a wide base up to a pointed tip. Single solid green, no colour breaks, no decorations. The whole silhouette is about 7.5 inches wide at the largest size and every inch of it is covered in those layered strokes.
My friend stitched this on a set of natural linen napkins last Christmas. She said she wasnt sure it would read on the table but people kept asking where she got them -- honestly thought they were shop-bought. Thats the thing with a clean botanical shape, it doesnt scream holiday in an obvious way. Stitch at the 4-inch size on dinner napkins and center it in the lower right corner for a proper placement.
Run a layer of water-soluble topping over any textured fabric before stitching. The fine branch tips sink into terry cloth or waffle weave without a topping and you lose the botanical detail thats the whole point of this design. Stitch count reaches 20,736 stitches at the 7.5-inch-wide size so use a cutaway behind anything that has any stretch to it. Text me if anything's off with your download and ill get it fixed.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Linen dinner napkins for a natural holiday table settingStitch at the 4-5 inch wide size on hemmed linen napkins; center in the lower right corner for a classic placement.
- Minimalist Christmas sweatshirts without the usual holiday noiseOn sweatshirts use a poly topping and stitch at 5 inches wide on the chest -- all-green reads bold without being loud.
- Pocket detail on a button-down shirt or flannelThe 3.5-inch size fits a standard shirt pocket perfectly; use a tear-away beneath and a topping on pique or oxford weave.
- Quilted Christmas table runners with repeated tree motifsRepeat the design every 6 inches along a quilted runner using pre-quilted cotton fabric as your base.
- Reusable gift wrap muslin bags for a botanical lookMuslin drawstring bags take the 4-5 inch size well; leave the tree as the only decoration for a clean botanical gift wrap.
- Kids holiday onesies and sleepsuits in a clean graphic styleBaby onesies work with the 3.5-inch size on the chest; use a cutaway and a soft stabiliser layer against the skin side.
- Framed linen hoop for a Scandinavian-style holiday wall pieceStitch on natural linen stretched in a 10-inch hoop and frame as a Scandinavian-minimal winter decoration.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
