Drop this one on a tote and it just works. Its that wide lil ghost with the two close-set oval eyes and the small open mouth -- nothing extra, nothing overdone. The body runs wider than it is tall which gives it a completely different silhouette from the typical tall ghost designs ya usually see. Kinda squat, kinda calm, totally its own thing.

3 colours and nine sizes sounds like alot but this is really a 2-colour job with a tiny accent -- white satin body, black for the eyes and outline, lil blush of pink on the mouth. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitising keeps the density at 540 so it doesnt stiffen up lightweight cotton. The stitch count goes from 2,564 at the smallest to 11,312 at 5 inches so use a cutaway stabiliser on knits and anything with stretch. I had a bunch of orders for this one last september from people making baby halloween sets and one customer wrote me that she stitched the 2-inch version on a set of 6 burp cloths in one sitting -- that low density makes it realy fast to run off.

Pick the 3-inch hoop for most shirt placement, the 2-inch for pockets and patches, and the 5-inch for tote bag fronts. Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven cotton and a cutaway on anything stretchy. Pair it with a simple jack-o-lantern or bat design to build out a set without everything competing for attention. Drop me a note if you run into anything with the files and Ill sort it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Canvas tote bags and reusable shopping bagsThe wide horizontal proportions suit tote bag placement especially well -- stitch it centred below the handles at 4 or 5 inches
  • Baby onesies and infant halloween outfitsAt 2 inches it fits neatly on a baby onesie chest without crowding the neckline
  • Sweatshirts and hoodies with minimalist halloween stylingThe clean 2-colour design reads well on dark grey or charcoal sweatshirt fabric without needing a topping
  • Linen pouches and fabric gift bagsFits perfectly on a 4x6 inch linen drawstring pouch as a halloween gift wrap alternative
  • Halloween quilt squares and patchwork projectsThe simple outline style blends with other quilt blocks without competing for attention
  • Embroidered bookmarks or fabric bookmark stripsRunning it 2 inch, the ghost fits on a 1.5-inch wide fabric bookmark strip with room to spare

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
