The cat sits perfectly still, back to you, tail curled around the base. And thats exactly where this design does its thing. The whole body is a solid black silhouette but the inside isnt empty, its packed with large poppy flowers, leafy stems and soft botanical detail drawn right into the cat shape. Three big blooms sit front and centre with the petals fanning out. The leaves tuck in around em filling every gap without getting crowded.

Its a two-tone design, kinda like a woodcut print. Black satin fill on the outer silhouette with the floral detail cut into it using directional stitching so the petals stand out against the solid body. That tension between the bold silhouette edge and the delicate botanical interior is what makes it work. No colour changes to worry about, just black thread and a steady hoop. Stitch count sits between 12k on the smaller sizes and just under 24k on the 7-inch wide at the top end.

I get a bunch of orders for this one from cat cafe owners and pet shop people who want something that doesnt look like generic pet stock art. My friend who runs a small botanical gifts shop in her town ordered it last month on cream linen tote bags for her spring launch and it sold out in a week she told me. So ya, it clicks hard with cat-and-flower people in a real way.

Pop it on cream, white, oatmeal or sage fabric and the black really pops. Skip dark backgrounds here because the whole contrast trick relies on a light ground showing through the floral cutwork inside the silhouette. Try a 5-inch size on a cushion cover or a 4-inch on a canvas pouch. The 7-inch version on a tote bag back panel is genuinely great for a botanical or cat-themed small business.

Use a medium cutaway stabiliser and hoop your fabric snug. But dont pull it too tight or the satin fill on the outline warps at the edges. The botanical interior uses a mix of satin columns on the petals and tatami fill on the leaf sections so keep your tension consistent and stitch slowly through those areas for cleanest results.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
