Side profile of a cat with its head tilted back, ears perked forward like something caught its attention just above the frame. The fill work is what makes this different from the usual cat silhouette. Rather than solid fill throughout, some sections open up into loose directional marks, almost like rough brush strokes, and the fabric peeks through those gaps on purpose. Gives it a hand-drawn quality you dont usually get from a two-color design.
Just 2 thread colors, teal and white. The white in most places is the background cotton itself showing through those open brush-mark sections, not a stitched white thread. Thats why the stitch counts stay manageable, 7,902 at the smallest size up to just under 20,000 at the full 7.5-inch height. Only 1 color change across the whole thing.
Five sizes ranging from 1.4 inches wide at the small end up to 3 inches wide at the largest. Very narrow and tall throughout. Pop this on a light cotton or linen so the teal reads well against the pale ground. Skip dark fabrics unless you swap the teal for white or a contrast color, the gaps in the fill wont show up otherwise. Stitch on a light tearaway stabiliser, the low stitch count means it doesnt need anything heavier. People have been using this one a lot for bookmarks and sleeve patches since I listed it earlier this year, one customer told me she stitched the whole set of 5 sizes on matching pouches as gifts. A tall cat. Simple but it works. If you need a different size or cant open the files just text me through the shop and Ill help.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Narrow bookmark-style projects and fabric bookmarksThe narrow vertical shape is almost exactly bookmark proportions, fabric bookmarks are a popular small-batch product for craft sellers
- Cat-themed tote bags and canvas pouches for cat ownersCat owner gifts are evergreen, the minimalist style appeals to people who want something subtle rather than a photorealistic portrait
- Collar or sleeve placement on a sweatshirt or hoodieSleeve placement works well here because the narrow width doesnt take up much of the sleeve real estate
- Small framed hoop gifts for cat loversAt the 3.5-inch size it fits inside a small hoop and makes a quick gift that doesnt require a lot of thread changes
- Zipper pull patches and keyring fobsThe small footprint at lower sizes is practical for zipper pulls and keyring-sized patches on thick felt or canvas

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
