Drew this one after getting tired of the same pointy triangle trees. Its a modern winter tree built from thick satin sweeping curves that zigzag back and forth, wide at the base and narrowing up, so the silhouette reads as a tree but with this flowing ribbon-like movement. I sold a bunch of these last christmas to people who didnt want the classic pine outline look.

Geometric snowflakes and 8-pointed star shapes are scattered around at different sizes. Two threads: deep navy blue for the snowflake accents and bright cyan for the main satin fill. Hoop with a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser on anything that stretches. The 5 inch version sits nicely on a tea towel or winter pillowcase. And the bigger 7.49 inch version works well centered on a fleece blanket.

Stitch count runs from 10,760 up to 22,649 depending on size. Its important the stabiliser has enough body to keep those directional satin stitches from pulling. Skip sheer or very light fabrics, the satin work needs something to grip into. Use a sharp needle, 75/11 or 80/12, for cleaner coverage on the sweeping fills.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Winter holiday throw pillows and cushion coversThe large 7 inch size fills a pillow front well, looks great in ice blue thread on white or grey fabric.
  • Christmas tea towels and kitchen linensThe 5 inch version centers neatly on a standard tea towel without crowding the edges.
  • Fleece blankets and cozy lap blanketsCentered on a fleece blanket the satin sweeps catch the light in a way that looks really sharp.
  • Holiday tote bags and reusable shopping bagsWorks on canvas totes without puckering as long as you back it with a firm tearaway first.
  • Festive kids pajama tops and winter sleepwearThe 3.5 inch size fits on a child's chest pocket area on flannel pj tops without overpowering.
  • Christmas stockings with a modern graphic lookStitch along the top cuff of a stocking for a Scandinavian-style holiday look in 2 thread changes.
  • Winter table runners and seasonal placematsThe wide horizontal proportions of this design fit a table runner length really naturally.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
