Its that thick block-letter varsity font, the kind you see on old stadium jackets, except here it spells MOM in a big proud arch. The letters are chunky and bold, almost like theyre cut from felt, with a slight curved baseline that gives the whole thing that classic collegiate feel. Three colours in the design so theres room to play with thread combinations, like a cream letter body with a coloured outline and a contrasting fill on the arch shadow.

Wilcom EmbroideryStudio drove the underlay mapping here, and you can feel it in the density. At the largest size, 4.11 inches wide and 8.01 tall, the stitch count climbs to just over 10,000, so tape a heavy backer behind it on any stretchy cotton or fleece. Five sizes total ranging from 2.06 to 4.11 inches wide, so you can hoop a tea towel patch or go big on an apron bib without resizing by hand. The smallest runs 4644 stitches and sits clean on denim pockets.

A customer told me last christmas she ran this on a canvas tote in navy and gold thread and said the satin block letters came out so crisp she got asked at a market stall where she bought the bag. That kind of pop is exactly what directional satin fill does when the density setting is right. Stitch this on canvas, cotton drill or a firm linen blend for best results. Use a stabiliser on the back, dont skip it even for wovens, the 3-colour registration needs a steady base.

And if youre making a gift set, pair it with a plain tea towel and a personalised ribbon for one of those low-effort high-impact mum presents. Pop it on a front pocket or centred on a bib apron and Thats honestly all the styling it needs.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Mother's Day tote bag or canvas shopper giftThe varsity arch reads clearly on natural or navy canvas at the 4 inch size.
  • Kitchen apron with MOM centred on the bibCentre the arch on the bib panel, back with cutaway, satin letters land crisp.
  • Denim shirt pocket for a mum who loves casual styleAt 2.06 inches wide it fits a breast pocket without overcrowding the space.
  • Flour-sack tea towel as part of a handmade gift setFlour-sack cotton is lightweight so use a cutaway and tear-away combo backing.
  • Fleece pullover for a casual Mother's Day keepsakeFleece needs a firm cutaway and a topping of wash-away film over the pile.
  • Baby onesie or toddler tee for a new mum giftKeep the smallest 4644-stitch size for baby items, gentle on delicate fabric.
  • Cotton pillowcase for a personalised bedroom giftCotton sateen pillowcase takes satin fill cleanly with a medium-weight cutaway.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
