Its a crescent moon with a little cloud tucked underneath it and a five-pointed star off to the side -- the sort of nighttime scene you'd paint on a nursery wall but now you can stitch it instead. The moon is an orange crescent, textured cross-hatch fill so it doesnt look flat, shading built in. The cloud is that rounded two-tone blue underneath it. The star sits upper right, connected by a thin running-stitch thread line, which gives it a kind of hanging or floating feel rather than just sitting there.

6 colors in the palette -- oranges for the moon, blues and a sky tone for the cloud and star, all muted enough to stay soft. Stitch count starts at 3,570 on the smallest 2.51 inch design and climbs to 15,471 on the 6.51 inch size. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio digitised it. With only 10 trims the machine barely stops, so even the medium sizes stitch in under 20 minutes on most home machines. A customer last week stitched all 3 sizes back to back for a set of baby shower bibs.

Hoop a piece of fleece or cotton interlock with a standard tearaway stabiliser underneath. Pop the smallest size on a bib -- it lands perfectly without the star getting clipped. Use a medium-weight cutaway on stretch knit if you want the shapes to hold their outline. Send a note if the format you need isnt obvious in the bundle.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Baby shower gift items -- burp cloths, bibs, lovey blanketsSend a burp cloth with this stitched on it and trust me, it goes in the 'keep forever' pile not the drawer.
  • Nursery pillow covers and crib bumper panelsA nursery pillow at the 6 inch size looks properly custom, the kind of thing people think was expensive.
  • Newborn photo session props on linen backdropsCream linen hooped for a newborn shoot background adds texture and warmth without competing with the baby.
  • Personalised baby name hoops paired with alphabet designsPair the moon with a name in a coordinating script for a personalised nursery hoop set -- really popular as shower gifts.
  • Toddler sleep sack or pajama chest embellishmentOn a sleep sack at the 3 inch size the moon and star land right where little hands can feel the texture.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
