This ones a step up from the simple moon-and-cloud. The moon is a big orange crescent sitting above a bank of layered clouds -- pink, purple, blue, all stacked and overlapping. Around the moon and clouds theres a scatter of decorative elements: ornate orange star-flower shapes, small black 4-pointed stars, a spiral detail up top. Its not a cartoon, its more boho or celestial in feel, the kind of thing youd see on a nursery mural in a home with an actual design sense. People have been buying this one specifically for blush linen pillow covers and gallery-wall hoops -- its had a run of orders this spring, seems to be having a moment.

6 colors and 6 color changes -- orange, black, blue, pink, purple and white all in play. Stitch counts range from 11,168 on the smallest 3.50-inch-wide size up to 27,249 on the largest at 4.75 inches wide. 56 trims on size 3, which tells you how much fine detail is packed into those star and spiral ornaments. Pulled the file together in Wilcom over a long Sunday.

Use a medium-weight cutaway stabiliser on woven fabric -- density 765 is fairly high and knit fabric doesnt give the needle enough resistance. Hoop tight and stitch slowly through the first color sequence. Pop the largest size onto a pillow cover and the layered cloud colors really come out. Text me through the shop if theres a file issue and ill resend straight away.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Boho nursery pillow covers in blush and cream fabricOn a blush linen pillow cover this looks like it belongs in an interiors magazine -- the layered cloud colors pick up whatever palette you're working with.
  • Celestial-themed baby shower gift itemsIts a step up from the basic moon designs so it works well when you want a gift that looks considered.
  • Kids bedroom wall hoop display as a set with other celestial designsThree or 4 celestial hoops on a gallery wall -- sun, moon, stars over clouds -- makes a proper nursery feature.
  • Tote bags for a moon-and-stars aestheticA navy canvas tote with this in orange and white thread is a solid everyday bag for a boho-leaning customer.
  • Toddler sweatshirt chest design for autumn and winterChest placement on a sweatshirt at the 3.5 inch size keeps it subtle but detailed enough to be interesting up close.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
