My sister put this on a tea towel for our mum last christmas and now she wants it on everything in the kitchen. I get messages like that about this design more than almost any other in the catalogue. The lettering mix is whats doing it. The red block caps spelling MORE and LESS in thick solid fills and then Smiling and Worrying! in a loose hand-script that looks like someone wrote it with a wide-nib pen, two completely different voices on one piece of fabric they dont fight each other at all.

Two colours. One thread change. Stitch count sits around 7,341 at 3 inches and climbs to just over 19,044 at 7 inches. Thats a manageable run on most home machines and the satin density is low enough that the fabric wont distort if youve got your hooping sorted. Use a tearaway on woven cotton and linen, cutaway on fleece or any knit blank. Black and red works on ivory, cream, grey, blush, natural linen, charcoal. Practically anything except very dark red.

Stitch it on a tea towel, a pillow cover, a tote, a hoodie. At 3 inches it tucks onto a pocket or a small pouch. Go up to 7 inches for a throw pillow or a sweatshirt front and it fills the space properly. A customer send me a photo last february of this stitched on a set of matching kitchen linens she made as a valentines day gift for her daughter. Came out exactly how shed hoped. Email me if the file gives you any trouble and Ill send a corrected version same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Tea towel or kitchen linen as a cheerful reminder above the sinkWoven cotton tea towel in cream or ivory shows off the red block caps really well without competing with the design
  • Tote bag for a friend going through a stressful patch at workA canvas tote in natural or sage green is the kind of carry item that gets compliments from strangers
  • Throw pillow cover for a reading nook or bedroom chairLinen pillow cover at 5 or 6 inches gives the lettering room to breathe without looking stretched
  • Journal cover or notebook pouch for someone who journals dailyFelt or canvas journal cover at 3 to 4 inches is a size that works within most standard hoop sizes
  • Sweatshirt or pullover hoodie for a low-key positive vibe everyday itemFrench terry or fleece fabric is forgiving for the cursive sections and the finished stitching has a nice raised texture on it

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
