Pulled this one together as a proper mother and baby piece rather than a generic heart filler. The central figure is a woman in silhouette, hair twisted up in a loose bun, head tilted gently downward toward a small baby she holds in the crook of her arms. The baby sits nestled right against her, little head up near her shoulder. Around the outside of the two figures runs a wreath made entirely of small individual hearts, each one stitched separately so the ring has texture and dimension rather than just being a flat border line.

2 colours but the density at 840 means this is a genuinely substantial stitch-out. Red fill covers the main body areas of both figures and all the individual hearts in the wreath, black thread does the outlines, the fine hair curl detail and the delicate lines that define the baby. The largest size at 7.26 inches wide and 7.5 inches tall runs to about 45,700 stitches which is the most demanding piece in this set. Use a cutaway stabiliser on anything stretchy and a firm medium-weight backing on lighter wovens. Keep your stabiliser drum-tight in the hoop before you start, the density will pull if it has any slack.

Runs in 5 sizes from 3.39 inches up to 7.26 wide. The smaller 3.5 inch size is suprisingly detailed for its footprint and works really well on baby blanket corners or bib fronts. Reach for the larger sizes on framing projects or big pillow panels. Tearaway on cotton or linen works for most sizes, switch to cutaway on fleece, minky, or jersey.

My customers tell me this is one of their most requested mothers day pieces, and I get just as many orders outside that window. One customer ordered it in the 5-inch size last spring for a hospital gift set she was making for a friend expecting her first baby. The heart wreath framing the figures keeps it clean enough for gift items without tipping into overly sentimental. Heres what works best, cream linen. Im a fan. Kinda the whole point of the wreath choice. Youll see why. Dont skip stabiliser.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Mother's Day framed hoop giftsThe composition fills a 7-inch hoop beautifully and framed with a simple white mount makes a heartfelt Mother's Day gift that lasts.
  • Baby blanket corner accentsA 3.5-inch version stitched in the corner of a white cotton baby blanket is one of the most popular uses customers tell me about.
  • New mum hospital gift setsPaired with a simple name stitch on a hospital gift bag this becomes a welcome-baby present that feels genuinely personal.
  • Nursery pillow coversCentred on a nursery throw pillow in cream or ivory the red and black reads warm without being garish against soft neutral decor.
  • Personalised bib and burp cloth setsSmall sizes on muslin bibs or cotton burp cloths make practical keepsakes that new parents can actually use rather than just display.
  • Keepsake tote bags for new parentsOn a plain cotton tote with the baby's name added alongside, customers use this as a new parent carry bag that doubles as a keepsake.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
