Eight colours and every one doing real work here. The mother unicorn stands tall with that brown tapered horn pointing straight up, her body in a warm cream and orange tone, and the flowing pink mane sweeps down and curls out in long wavy lines that the digitiser built with real layered detail. Sitting against her side is the baby, same colouring but rounder and smaller, its own little pink mane tucked in close. Both have the same wide dark eye with that classic cartoon lash, it gives the pair a really tender quality without going too saccharine.
The crown on the mothers head is where the colour gets interesting. Yellow blooms cluster with red flowers, and right at the very top a dark blue butterfly with pink-tipped wings perches with open wings. Its a lot of detail at one focal point and the 8-colour thread count is what holds it together without muddying. White fill on the butterfly wing centres, brown on the horn, red, yellow, pink, orange, black and white all accounted for in eight stops total.
A customer wanted the 9-inch hoop for a nursery wall art project last Christmas, went with white minky fabric and said the pink mane came out so soft and dimensional against it she nearly cried, which I totally get because thats exactly the kind of piece this is. For nursery hoops the larger sizes are worth it, the scroll work and flower detail needs room to breathe.
Stitch on white, cream, pale lilac or soft mint. Use a cutaway stabiliser on any stretch fabric, minky or fleece. Skip dense knit or terry for this one because 8 colours means a lot of jump threads and those need a stable base. Hoop the fabric taut, run at a medium-slow speed on the mane sections where the long directional stitches sit close together. Add a soluble topper on textured fabrics. Message me through the shop if you hit any thread tension issues on the scroll sections, happens sometimes on older machines and Im easy to reach.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
