The Mr. & Mrs. ampersand design runs at a 231-thread density, which is on the tighter side for a single-colour script and thats exactly why the satin columns hold so clean. Most script lettering at this scale starts showing gaps at the edges, but this one holds its shape at the 2.31-inch wide size and scales all the way up without losing definition. "Mr." and "Mrs." sit in flowing cursive above two parallel satin-rule lines, with the oversized ampersand sweeping right through both lines and dropping below. Its a split-frame layout, not just three words side by side, and that little detail is what makes it actually read like a wedding design instead of a generic label.

Single colour, no colour changes, 5 sizes spanning the full range from a tight pocket version up to a full pillow-cover statement piece. I drew the ampersand intentionally big so the whole composition reads as one connected shape. The horizontal rules run in the same directional satin fill as the letterforms, so they look like part of the design, not an afterthought. Stitch it in charcoal or black thread on cream linen and you get that contrast that works for bridal stuff year after year.

A bride I know ordered this for her ring bearer pillow last summer and kinda couldnt believe how clean it came out on woven cotton with a proper cutaway underneath. Five sizes means you can place the 3-inch version on a shirt pocket for the groom and scale right up to the tall 7.01-inch layout for a table runner centre panel or a large canvas tote for the wedding party. Use a cutaway stabiliser on woven cotton and linen, and Skip the tearaway on stretchy knit bridesmaid tees because at this density it will pull without proper support underneath.

Pop it on a sateen pillowcase with iron-on cutaway floated under the fabric and the satin fill lays dead flat with no puckering. Centre the ampersand vertically on the pillowcase if youre doing a sweetheart table and make sure your underlay is solid before you start the main fill, especially on terry cloth or fleece where the loops can push through if you skip a topping layer. Hoop tight, float dont stretch, and the registration stays locked the whole way through.

Bug me on chat if the registration slips a touch.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Wedding ring bearer pillowNeeds a cutaway on the pillow linen or the satin rules shift when stuffed.
  • Bridal party tote bagRuns clean across a woven canvas tote front at the 4-inch size, letters stay sharp through a full wash cycle.
  • Bridesmaid gift zip pouchA buyer put this on her bridesmaid card holders in ivory thread on blush linen and they looked genuinely custom.
  • Table runner centre panelCenter the ampersand on a 12-inch wide linen table runner and stitch at the full 5.37-inch width for a bold focal point.
  • Sweetheart table pillowcaseUse the 5-inch layout on a sateen pillowcase with iron-on cutaway floated underneath, satin fill stays perfectly flat.
  • Wedding shirt pocketTry the 2.31-inch version on a shirt breast pocket in charcoal thread on a white twill shirt for the groom.
  • Linen cocktail napkinHoop a cotton cocktail napkin with tearaway and the 3-inch size comes out crisp enough to impress at a seated dinner.
  • Canvas photo album coverPlace it dead centre on a canvas album cover with a tonal thread for a low-contrast heirloom look.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
