I made this one last spring for the cottagecore crowd, a garden scene thats wide and low, more a decorative band than a centred motif. Eight colours, five sizes, and it runs from 3.51 to 7.51 inches wide but only 1.7 to 3.65 inches tall, so its built to sit along a hem or cuff rather than filling a chest. At the 7.51 inch size you get 31,462 stitches and a density of 178, which is firm, so Pair midweight cutaway with anything that moves or a tearaway on stable wovens. The underlay is directional and keeps the satin mushroom caps sitting nice and flat.

The spotted caps are the bit people keep messaging me about, getting the white polka dots to sit crisp on a red satin base takes alot of tension work and the right underlay sequence. Ive tested this across cotton twill, denim, and linen and all three come out clean. Skip the cheap tearaway if youre putting this on a bag that gets heavy use, go straight to medium cutaway and the border stays clean through washing. The little ferns around the base use a tight fill stitch that reads as texture rather than just colour, which adds depth without needing extra thread changes. Send a chat if the file format isnt listed for your machine and Ill check what I have.

Five sizes means it adapts, stitch the smallest 3.51 inch version along a pocket edge or child's sleeve cuff, or go up to 7.51 inches for a full tote front border. Run the red cap thread through a cold rinse before your first finished wash, red can bleed that first time and its worth the extra step. Use it on kitchen aprons, linen bags, or that kind of cottagecore project, the scene has enough detail to look intentional even at smaller sizes. Pair with natural linen or forest green fabric and the red and cream mushroom palette pops well. Email me through the shop contact if you want a smaller mushroom variant and Ill prep the file.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Hem border on a linen apronThe 7.51 inch size runs beautifully along a linen apron hem; tearaway stabiliser on woven linen and the wide low composition sits level naturally.
  • Sleeve cuff detail on a kids topUse the 3.51 inch size along a childs sleeve cuff; cutaway stabiliser inside the sleeve tube keeps the dense 178 density stitches from puckering.
  • Canvas tote bag horizontal borderAt 5 to 6 inches the scene spans most of a canvas tote front as a decorative bottom border; tearaway backing pulls clean without distorting the panel.
  • Pillowcase decorative edge stripStitch the 7.51 inch version along a standard pillowcase edge; the horizontal format follows the pillow seam naturally on cotton or linen fabric.
  • Jacket pocket opening accentA 4 inch version lines up neatly above a jacket chest pocket opening; medium-weight cutaway on denim holds the dense fill stitches securely.
  • Kitchen towel bottom border designThe 7 inch size runs along a cotton kitchen towel bottom border; wash in cool water after stitching to set the red mushroom cap thread colour.
  • Table runner fabric band appliqueUse the full 7.51 inch design as a border band on a linen table runner; stabilise with tearaway and iron flat after stitching to keep the runner lying flat.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
