The mushroom-girl character has this lil dreamy look about her, eyes closed, red lips slightly parted, teal hair falling past her shoulders. The big red amanita mushroom cap sits right on top of her head like a hat, its got the classic white polka dots across the scarlet cap and a pale tan gill underside showing at the edges. She's standing with hands together like shes lost in thought or maybe just listening to the garden.

The botanical wreath around her does alot of the work. Thick forest green stems and leaf clusters frame the circle, and nestled in them are hot pink tulip-style blooms, deep magenta round buds, and 3 butterflies. 2 of the butterflies are teal, one is red, they sit at different spots around the frame. 9 colours total, 8 color changes, stitch count goes from 16,918 at 3.29 inches up to 42,398 at the full 7.03 by 7.51 inch size.

I get messages about this one from people who run mushroom foraging clubs, that honestly was not who I expected when I made it. But its one of those whimsical designs that finds its own audience. A botanical homewares shop owner email me last october saying she stitched the 7-inch version on cream linen cushion covers and sold out at a local makers market in two hours. She wanted send me message right away to reorder, which I loved.

Stitch on cream or oatmeal linen for the clearest colour read, the scarlet red and teal pop off a natural ground. Avoid dark navy or black backgrounds here because the forest green wreath disappears. Lay cutaway behind on large sizes, the green wreath section alone runs close to 11,000 stitches and you dont want that shifting during a long run. Hoop snug. Email me if you have trouble with any of the 9 colours staying separate at the smallest 3.29-inch size.

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
