The typography here is doing the heavy lifting and its kinda genius. My FiRST is the top line in that deliberately inconsistent mixed-case style where some letters are taller and some are shorter, which is what gives it a spooky hand-lettered look rather than just a regular font. Then HalLoWeeN below it has the same thing going on, different letter heights, and then the O is a red spider hanging on a thread, which you either notice immediately or you do a double take. Little bat sitting above the M at the top with open wings, small and simple, just enough to anchor the spooky theme.
3 colours, 5 changes. The main letters run dense black satin fill that covers cleanly even at the 3-inch size. White highlight stitches sit inside some of the letter forms for that dimensioned chalk-board texture. The red spider is minimal stitches but drops in cleanly without a bobbin issue. This is a light build overall, 4k to 10k stitches across the 5 sizes, so its fast to run and works on even basic machines without timing problems.
Baby bodysuits, first halloween onesies, kids shirts, small bibs. Thats where this lives. A customer who does personalised baby gifts ran the 4-inch version on a set of onesies for a Halloween baby shower last October and said she went through 2 dozen and couldnt keep up with requests.
Use tear-away stabiliser on knit baby fabric because the stitch count is low and tear-away pulls clean. Add a soluble film topper on any ribbed or textured knit to stop the lettering sinking into the weave. Hoop the fabric snug and press gently with a pressing cloth after stitching to flatten the fill. Skip cutaway on thin baby fabric unless youre on a particularly stretchy knit.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Babys first Halloween onesie and bodysuitThe 3-inch on a white onesie snap-front is the classic move and it looks properly intentional rather than a craft project
- Infant Halloween photo prop outfitsStitch on a soft cotton shirt for Halloween baby photos, the mixed-case font photographs really well in black and white too
- Toddler Halloween party shirtsThe 4-inch on a kids 2T or 3T tee works for a toddler who wont wear a full costume but needs something Halloween-appropriate
- First Halloween keepsake bib or blanket panelEmbroider on a flat muslin bib or a cotton blanket panel as a keepsake item the family keeps in the baby box
- Newborn Halloween announcement propsStitch on a fabric square, frame it, and gift it as a newborn first Halloween announcement display piece
- Baby shower Halloween gift itemsBaby shower gift set: onesie plus matching bib both with the 3-inch design, wrap in orange tissue and done
- Kids first trick-or-treat outfit embellishmentThe 3-inch on a kids cardigan pocket or sleeve is a subtle Halloween touch that reads well in trick-or-treat photos

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
