Its a full witchy portrait. Side profile of a woman on the top half, wide-brimmed black hat with a single gold feather in the band, and a waterfall of dark magenta-purple hair flowing down past her collar. Her face is in shadow under the hat brim, just a sliver of pale grey cheek visible. Below her a large moth spreads its wings across the lower section with detailed markings in magenta and gold, the body small and centred, round eye-spots on the lower wings in deep purple. Tiny gold constellation dots connected by fine lines scattered all around, like a star map overlay.
Eleven colours, ten thread swaps. the 7.5 max tops at around 62k stitches which puts it in the top-complexity tier. The hair section alone uses directional columns that flow downward in waves so it genuinely looks like shiny flowing hair when stitched, not a flat purple fill. Wing markings run in very fine satin columns at about 2mm width which means your machine needs to be well-tensioned there.
Stitch this on black fabric. Full stop. Black cotton, black velvet, black canvas. The magenta hair and gold accents need that dark ground or the design goes flat entirely. A customer last month stitched the 5-inch on a black velvet pouch and sent me photos, it looked incredible, the directional stitching on the hair caught the light differently from every angle and the gold feather just glowed.
Use a firm mesh cutaway on black jersey. Pop a water-soluble topping on velvet or any textured black fabric to stop the stitches sinking. Slow your machine to about 600spm on the wing detail section, those narrow column stitches dont like being rushed and thread breaks happen on machines that push too fast. Some buyers customise the gold to a warm bronze or burnt orange for an autumn colourway and its a beautiful swap.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
