So this mystical black cat sits front-facing on a single black thread design, 5 sizes from 3.13 to 6.72 inches, and its got celestial and botanical framing packed around it. Theres a crescent or full moon behind the cats silhouette, trailing branches and small blooms from the base, some stars worked into the corners too. Its a blackwork illustration where everything runs in one colour, no colour breaks, just variations in density and satin column width to separate the cat form from the background elements.

Single colour means zero thread swaps, you load black and run it straight through. Density sits at 688, tight enough to give the satin fill real depth but not so dense it stiffens a lighter cotton or linen ground. 13,797 stitches at the bottom size and 34,654 at the full 6.72 inch version. Wilcom set the directional underlay so the cat body satin runs different angles from the botanical fill around it, thats what makes the cat sit visually in front of the floral frame rather than merging into it. Layer a soft cutaway behind it, dense fills need backing even on woven cotton.

My customers who buy this one tend to be into the dark academia, witchy, or gothic aesthetic year-round, not just halloween. A customer ordered two last november for cat-themed christmas gifts, one on black denim and one on cream linen. Both came out well. Pop it on black fabric for a disappearing cat effect where only the outline work shows, or go cream or navy for full contrast. The 4 inch version sits nicely on a tote bag front panel or a cushion corner.

Use a high-sheen black polyester thread for the satin sections, it makes the botanical detail crisp. Avoid stretchy jersey here, those dense fill sections dont behave on unstable knit.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
