Its only half a face and somehow thats what makes it work. The cat is cut right down the centre, the right side fills the whole frame: a burst of long directional fur strokes in blue-grey spreading out from the muzzle and cheek like the cat was caught mid-shake, with a bright olive-yellow eye in the centre that has this almost hypnotic quality to it. Lil accent highlights around the eye in a warm gold, white whisker base underneath. The whole thing has a kinda wild energy, like a nature photograph cropped too tight.

Wilcom did the precise punch over the fur direction in this one, routing each satin column to radiate outward following the natural growth lines. Thats important because uniform directional stitching would flatten the texture out and the whole fanned-fur effect would disappear. Instead the columns go longer and more spread out toward the outer edges and tighter and shorter near the cheekbone. Four colours: blue-grey as the main fur body, white for the inner muzzle and whisker area, a green R195 G201 for the iris, and a yellow-gold R242 G225 for the eye ring and highlight. Three colour changes total, 58 trims.

Drop it on a knit cushion cover and the radiating fur reads beautifully across the stretch. On a tote bag or pouch face it sits more rigid and clean. Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven cotton at the smaller size and cutaway on any stretchy fabric or knit. The density here is 692 which is on the moderate side, so it wont cause puckering issues on mid-weight fabrics. Run the biggest 7.5 build on a canvas pillow and it practically fills the face panel.

A customer wrote me last month after stitching the large hoop size on a black cotton pillow case and said the gold eye popped way more than expected against the dark base. A bunch of people pick it for halloween tote bags and witchy aesthetic projects. Use a black fabric base and the blue-grey fur shows up really well with that yellow-gold iris as the centrepiece.

Three sizes: 5.51 by 3.35 inches, 6.51 by 3.96 inches, and 7.51 by 4.57 inches. Best suited for throw pillow panels, tote bags, project pouches, and sweatshirt chest placement. Drop me a message if you want a size outside this range and Ill see what I can do.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
