Squat little nordic gnome, and when I say squat I mean the hat is nearly as tall as the rest of him put together. Big deep-red cone hat taking up the top half, a giant fluffy white beard filling the middle, and two tiny rounded feet just barely peeking out at the bottom like he forgot to show them. Theres no face visible at all, just hat, beard, and feet. Thats the classic Scandinavian shape and it works every single time.

Nine colours in the design. The hat has a darker red shading near the base and a lighter highlight toward the tip. The beard has multiple white and pale grey threads layered to give it that fluffy textured look rather than flat white. The feet are tan brown, the ground line under him is warm beige. Five sizes in the file, running from 3.5 inches wide up to 7.5, stitch counts between 10,600 and 25,500.

Im always suprised by how much this one sells year-round, not just december. Someone ordered it in july for a hygge-themed home decor project. They wanted it on a linen cushion in earthy tones, so they ran it in burgundy and cream instead of red and white. Looked brilliant honestly.

Stitch on a sage green, cream, or natural linen background for the most Scandinavian result. Goes on tees too but the gnome designs really shine on home dec pieces. Use it on a large cushion cover, a cotton wall banner, or a wide stocking. Dont overthink the fabric choice, this shape reads well on almost anything that isnt too busy.

Nine colours but the sequence is logical. Hat goes first in the two red shades, then the beard layers from the grey undertone up to the bright white top layer. Save the tiny feet for last so they sit clearly on top of the ground fill. Keep good stabiliser under linen fabric especially because the beard texture sections are dense.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
