This one is for every nurse pulling a shift over the holidays and still managing to smile about it. Honestly its a design that just lands right. The word Nurse in thick flowing cursive, bold and readable from a few feet away. Red. Black. Done.

On the left the stethoscope tube loops into a heart shape before running along the top of the letters. On the right it stretches out to the chest piece and earbuds in grey, recognisable even at smaller sizes. Dotted through the lettering are 3 or 4 individual christmas light bulbs in green, blue, red and yellow, just like someone draped a string of lights over the word. Its not over the top and it doesnt look like a craft fair table. Just enough festive.

7 colour stops total, stitch count from 3,577 at the smallest size up to 7,744 at 2.82 inches wide. Use a tear-away stabiliser on woven scrub fabric and a cutaway on the stretchy knit versions. Runs tall not wide, so it suits badge reel covers, zipper pouches and scrub top pockets really well. I get messages about this one every December from people buying it as a gift. Stitch it on a canvas pouch for a nurse you know and she wont stop using it. Skip the heavy tear-away on the smaller badge reel size, a light stabiliser is enough.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Stitch onto a nurses scrub top pocket for a festive holiday shift lookThe tall narrow proportions sit perfectly on a chest pocket of a scrub top
  • Embroider on a badge reel fabric cover as a christmas gift for a nursing colleagueAt the smallest size, 1.32 inches wide, it fits badge reel covers cleanly
  • Use on a tote bag nurses carry to and from the hospital over the holidaysA medium size on a canvas tote is readable at arm's length
  • Put on a christmas mug cozy or travel cup sleeve for a nurse giftWorks on neoprene mug cozy material with a light cutaway stabiliser
  • Stitch on a zipper pouch for pens and scissors as a practical christmas presentThe 2.5-3 inch wide sizes suit a zipper pouch front panel well
  • Use on a lanyard fabric strip as a personalised nursing accessorySatin fill stitching lays smoothly on woven lanyard or nylon fabric
  • Embroider on a scrub cap for a fun holiday theatre or ward lookThe 2 inch version fits a standard scrub cap brim panel without puckering

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
