The idea is simple and it works because its simple. A stethoscope. The tubing bends up and curves into a heart shape, meeting at the top where the earpieces would connect, and the chest piece hangs at the bottom right where a heart would point. Thats the left side. But that curved outline on the right isnt tubing at all, its filled with snowflakes instead. Three sizes of snowflake, from a large detailed crystal at the bottom to medium ones in the middle to small four-point stars scattered around the top edge. All in the same icy cyan blue, all cascading into that open arc where plain tubing would be.

Just 2 colours. Black for the stethoscope body and cyan for every snowflake. The simplicity is what makes it land on scrubs or a uniform shirt without looking like a craft project gone wrong. Clean, intentional, reads instantly as a nurse or healthcare worker thing with a winter or holiday twist. Im a big fan of two-colour designs that dont feel sparse just because theyre limited, and this one really doesnt.

Five sizes, 3-inch up to 7.5 inches, stitch counts from 7,892 on the smallest up to 16,190 on the largest. Light density overall, clean-line not a filled block, so bobbin thread usage is lower than you might expect. Use tear-away stabiliser on woven fabrics including scrub material and cotton poplin. Run cutaway for stretchy fabric like spandex blends. Hoop with the grain and the stethoscope outline sits clean and slightly raised, which is exactly what you want on a flat fabric.

Stitch on white, pale grey, light blue, navy, or black scrubs and it works. A customer texted me to say they ran the 4.5-inch on a navy scrub top as a christmas gift for a colleague and the cyan snowflakes looked sharp and festive without screaming holiday decor. Pop it on a tote or badge reel lanyard aswell, its a small enough motif to scale down without losing the read.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Nurse and healthcare worker scrub topsStitch the 5-inch onto a navy or white scrub top chest pocket area and it reads instantly as a seasonal nursing pride piece without being too decorative for a clinical setting
  • Winter nurse gift tote bags and pouchesWorks on a small cotton tote or zipper pouch for a nurse gift set paired with hand cream, chocolate and a card, the two-colour design looks polished on natural canvas
  • Personalised badge reel lanyard fabricRun the 3-inch on a lanyard fabric strip or badge reel panel for a subtle winter healthcare detail that colleagues will ask about at the nursing station
  • Medical staff holiday uniform patchesA customer needed the small 3.5-inch file for a group of staff holiday patches to iron onto uniform jackets and the clean black-and-cyan read clearly even at that scale
  • Graduation gifts for nursing studentsEmbroider on a white cotton tote and use it as a nursing school graduation gift bag filled with essentials, the heart-stethoscope combo says everything without a word
  • Hospital volunteer or aide uniform accentsStitch onto a plain white shirt or pale grey hoodie for a medical student or healthcare aide looking for a casual winter-themed healthcare look outside clinical hours
  • Winter themed healthcare apparel and accessoriesText me if youre running this on a stretchy scrub fabric and not sure whether to use tear-away, Ill walk you through the cutaway option so it sits flat on spandex blends

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
