Its a red satin rainbow arc, 3 colours, built specifically for nurses. Pulled this shape together after a few nurses kept asking for something with more personality than the plain text badge styles. The outer band is solid red satin running thick and clean around the arch. Inside that sits a ring of small pink dots, evenly spaced like a decorative border. Tucked in the centre of the rainbow is a little hand-drawn heart. A stethoscope circle sits right at the bottom left, its tubing loops up into the rainbow shape itself. Underneath it all, the word Nurse in chunky black cursive script with a pill shape attached on the right.

The digitising uses satin for the main arch which gives the red a real sheen when it catches light. Density is 641 which is on the heavier side so this one stitches with weight and presence. Its going from around 8.7k stitches at the smallest size up to 27k at the biggest, so the top sizes are a proper dense piece, not a quick little badge. I love how the stethoscope detail reads even at the 3-inch size, the loop shape stays recognisable.

One customer ordered this for a batch of staff appreciation tote bags at her hospital unit last December. She ran the 5-inch version on navy canvas and said the red came out vivid against the dark background, the pink dots read clearly even at that scale. And that loop at the bottom held together fine because she used a firm cutaway underneath. Im always glad when people send photos, the colours really pop on darker fabric.

Hoop with a cutaway stabiliser on anything thicker than quilting cotton. On scrub tops, a medium-weight cutaway is the right call because those satin sections pull if the base fabric moves. Pop a layer of polymesh topping over terry or fleece and youll get cleaner registration on the dot ring. Stitch the smaller sizes on light fabric so the red lands properly. Skip dark fabric if you want the pink dot detail to read clearly. Run a quick test stitch first, its worth it on satin-heavy designs like this one.

Five sizes included, smallest is just over 3 inches wide, largest is just over 7. Check the size chart before you hoop and the 4-inch is the sweet spot for most shirt placements. If something looks off after your test run, just Holler and Ill walk you through it.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
