Single colour, and the whole design is the word NURSE rendered as a word art silhouette where the inside of each letter holds smaller healthcare-related words packed tight. Care, heal, patient, compassion, and similar nurse-specific terms fill the letterforms. The small inner words use dense satin stitching at 667 density and thats what makes this design technically interesting but also technically demanding. That much fine text work inside a letter outline needs a very stable hooped setup or the registration shifts and the inner words smear.

Four sizes from 2.33 up to 4.32 inches wide and 3.51 to 6.51 tall. Its a tall design, word art silhouettes usually are. The biggest size runs 18,768 stitches which is solid for a single-colour piece because of all that fine inner typography. Stitch time will be longer than the stitch count alone suggests because of all the short-run underlay segments.

I get a steady stream of customers buying this one for nurse appreciation gifts, nurses week in May is when it really picks up. One customer last spring ordered five of these on navy tote bags for her whole ward team, she said the navy-on-natural-cotton colourway was clean and professional looking. Good choice for a workplace gift that isnt too cutesy.

Back it with tearaway plus topping. This is not a design where you can risk the hoop slipping mid-stitch, the letter fill alignment depends on everything staying perfectly still from start to finish. A sharp 75/11 needle on tightly woven fabric. Topping on pique polo shirts so those fine columns dont sink. Avoid stretchy knit fabric for this design specifically.

Pick navy, teal, or burgundy thread for the most professional hospital-adjacent look. Avoid light pastel threads on light fabric because the fine inner word detail drops off in readability.

  • Nursing school graduation presentsNursing school graduation gift framed in a 6-inch hoop on white linen, navy thread reads crisp against the plain backing.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
