Two outstretched hands in loose line-art style, one reaching from each side, with the quote text filling the space between them. 'Only' in chunky black caps top left, 'cats' in red, 'can' in black, 'judge' in black below the hands, 'me' in big red caps lower right. The sparkle diamond marks scattered around the design are a small thing but they add a lot. Its casual and a bit irreverent and its the exact sentiment that every cat owner has felt at least once, probably more than once.

Two colours, low stitch count. 3,282 at the smallest 2.46 x 3.5 inch up to 6,967 at 5.3 x 7.5. Thats on the lighter end even for the largest size, so machine time is short. Back with a stable poly cutaway for the fill letters, the line-art hands are simple outline work that doesnt need heavy backing but the red fill caps will look better with underlay. Avoid resizing above the top provided size, the hand sketches get sparse and lose detail at bigger scales. Hoop flat on a cutaway and check the line orientation on the hands before running.

This is one of those designs where I hear from customers are often using it for their own wardrobe and not as a gift at all. People want it for themselves. It shows up a lot on sweatshirts, tote bags, and those canvas shopper bags that cat owners carry everywhere. The low stitching means its a quick run even on challenging fabrics and youre not committing a lot of machine time to it, which is handy if youre doing a small batch. Last summer I had someone do a full run of these on tote bags for a cat rescue fundraiser and it worked great at the large size.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cat owner sweatshirts and tees with attitudeCentre on a dark sweatshirt at the 5-inch size, the red and black on dark reads bold without needing heavy fill
  • Everyday canvas tote bags and reusable shoppersCanvas tote at the largest size, its the kind of bag that gets noticed in a grocery queue and breaks the ice
  • Cat-themed gift pouches and zipper bagsStitch on a fabric zipper pouch at the 3-inch size for a low-cost, high-personality cat gift
  • Cushion covers with a sense of humourA cushion front at the 4-inch size works on any neutral fabric, the light stitch count suits lighter weight textiles
  • Quick personalised gifts for cat peopleQuick to stitch so you can do a small run of different cat quote designs together as a gift bundle
  • Apparel bundles and matching cat mom setsMatch with proud-cat-mom or life-is-better-cat for a coordinated two-piece apparel set

Behind every stitch

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
