Open book, flat on its spine, pages splayed wide. And growing right out of the middle, a little garden of flowers. There's no magic realism heavy-handedness here, its just a simple idea drawn cleanly. The book is a black outline, nice and simple, no page detail inside. The flowers are the colour part. Bright green stems rise up from the spine crease, branching into blush pink daisies, golden yellow sunflower-style blooms and a few smaller accent flowers at different heights.

The mix of outline and fill is what makes it work visually. Book stays graphic and flat, flowers are soft satin-stitch fills. That contrast is actually quite clever, it keeps the book readable as a book without competing with the floral colour. Spent a good while on the spacing of the stems so they dont crowd each other coming out of that narrow spine gap.

One customer ordered the smallest run for tote bags at a local library sale, said theyd go through about 50 bags and wanted something recognisable from across a table. The 1.9-inch size came out crisp on natural canvas, easy to read even at that compact scale, which is kinda the sweet spot for this design.

Best on plain light fabric where the black outline registers cleanly. White or natural cotton, soft linen, pale canvas. Works on a library tote, a reading pouch, a book sleeve, a journal cover. If youre putting it on a dark ground, plan for a white underlay under the book outline or the black disappears into the fabric.

Stitch count is light to moderate. 7.8k at small, 14k at the largest 7-inch. Easy on the stabiliser side, medium tear-away on woven cotton is plenty. Two colour changes between book and flowers. Any issues with the small size, message me and ill take a look.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
