Eastern dragons have a totally different energy to western ones and this design captures that well. Its a long coiled body, not a winged beast, with that flowing serpentine silhouette that reads as powerful but graceful at the same time. The mossy olive-green body, the bright pink frilled spines running the full length, the yellow eyes and open jaw, the flame-tip tail. 9 colours total and each one earns its place in the design. Thats what separates a well-digitised design from a rushed one.
At 1300 stitches per square inch this is among the denser designs in the catalogue. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio sequenced the colour runs so the black outline lays on last, which keeps every edge sharp rather than letting the fill bleed into it. Tape a firm cutaway to your hoop backing before anything else, this one needs a stable base or the fine body scales will shift mid-run. Youll thank yourself for not skipping that step. Use a 75/11 sharp needle on most shirt fabrics.
5 sizes from 3.51 to 7.51 inches wide. Stitch counts go from 28,667 at the small end up through 66,473 at the full size. A customer messaged last month after stitching the 6 inch version on the back of a black bomber jacket, said it took about 90 minutes to run but the result looked like a proper tattoo-art piece. About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
