Sketched this one out as a face-forward portrait of a lab-style dog, very open outline with thick black satin doing all the contour work, ears, forehead wrinkles, that little nose curl. Then sitting right across the eyes are these big aviator sunglasses split down the middle, navy stars on the left lens, scarlet and white horizontal stripes on the right. Simple, cant really miss what its going for.
The black outline work is the majority of the stitch count. In the 2 inch hoop you get 6,254 stitches which is surprisingly dense for that footprint, the detail holds well. The 7-inch version at 24,126 stitches is a big portrait piece that works on the back of a tee or a large canvas tote. I had a customer who wanted to send me message asking if the 5-inch version would clear a standard 5x7 hoop without issues, and it does, at 4.82 inches wide its just inside the frame with a small margin.
Avoid hooping anything too stretchy without stabiliser because those long satin runs on the ear edges will tunnel if the fabric has any give. Use a light cutaway under knits and a wash-away topping if youre stitching on a fluffy or textured ground. Pop the 6-inch version centred on a canvas tote and it fills the front panel well without crowding the edges. Skip positioning the face tilted, the sunglasses read wrong at an angle because the horizontal stripe detail on the right lens looks crooked even when its technically correct.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
