Wings out, talons forward, head tilted with that classic bald eagle glare. White head, golden beak, rich brown feathered chest. But the wings are where it goes full patriotic. Upper panels on both wings are the blue field with white stars, a clean grid of them stitched across the surface. Lower wing feathers switch to bold red and white horizontal stripes that fan out as the feathers spread. Its basically a living american flag with claws.

Thirteen colours and up to a hundred and nine thousand stitches on the largest size. Density hits 1,685 stitches per square inch and you feel it when it comes off the hoop. The weight is real. Layered satin fills at alternating angles build depth into the brown chest feathers. The star grid on the blue panels is tight enough that each star reads clearly even on the smaller sizes. I dont think ive digitised anything more stitch-heavy than this one.

Smallest size is 5.51 by 3.97 inches, biggest goes to 9.51 by 6.85. This is a large-format design, the minimum size already wider than your hand. Go for a jacket back or large canvas piece. Use a heavy cutaway stabiliser, not medium, because at a hundred thousand stitches the fabric needs real support underneath. Slow your machine down on the dense wing sections so the needle doesnt heat up and skip thread.

Use white, cream or black as your base fabric. On white the red and blue really punch out. On black the golden yellow and white head glow together. Skip grey or khaki because mid-tone fabric competes with the colour range and you lose impact. People have been buying this one heavily every year from late june through the fourth of july so if youre stitching for market season, get it done early.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • 4th of july custom jacket back panelScale to the 9-inch on a denim jacket back and the flag wings fill the full panel as a bold custom piece
  • Patriotic cap or baseball hat embroideryUse the smallest size on a baseball cap above the brim for independence day events where cap embroidery sells fast
  • American flag themed canvas toteStitch the medium on a natural canvas tote for a fourth of july market stall and it outsells the printed versions
  • Veterans Day or memorial event shirtsPut on a white tee for veterans day events, the red white and blue reads clearly and looks intentional rather than printed
  • Denim vest back patch for patriotic eventsEmbroider on a full denim vest back for a patriotic motorcycle event where large-scale designs get noticed from a distance
  • Rodeo or country-music themed apparelWorks on western shirts for country events because the eagle reads as bold americana rather than just holiday-specific
  • USA sports team supporter gearStitch on white polo shirts for a USA sports supporter club or fan-run merchandise drop
  • Patriotic wall hanging or framed hoop artMount the largest in a rectangular hoop with navy backing and frame as patriotic wall art for an office or rec room

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
