Round kitty face with an oversized flag bow on her ear, honestly the bow is what makes it. Its not a realistic cat portrait, its more like a cartoon cat face built around a massive patriotic bow sitting between the ears. The bow itself takes up alot of the composition. Left wing has navy satin with white stars, the centre knot is striped red and white, right wing mirrors the left. Theres a directional underlay running across those bow wings so the satin stays flat on knit fabrics, which is where most people are hooping this.
The cat details are minimal on purpose. Two open ear outlines in dark navy, a small red oval nose at centre, and four grey whiskers on each side done in a fine satin that actually reads as hair rather than a solid block. I get messages about that whisker detail alot, one customer wanted me to confirm theyd come out fine on a 4-inch size and yeah the 4 inch at 8,002 stitches still holds the whisker definition without the grey thread looking muddy. The 3-inch version at 5,730 stitches is more compact but still works on a pocket or sleeve.
Use a cutaway stabiliser under anything stretchy. Youre running 7 colour stops with 37 to 39 trims depending on size, so a light tearaway on woven fabric is fine but knit really needs the cutaway to keep those bow edges crisp through a wash. Skip dark navy fabric for this one because the navy outline disappears into the ground. Stick to white, light grey, or soft pink for the best read on the bow colours. Pop it on the back yoke of a kids tee and it fills the space nicely without going edge to edge.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
