Its a paw print but with the american flag worked into it. The toe pads on the left side go into that navy section with white stars stitched in, the rest of the pads and the main bottom pad go red with horizontal white stripes. Thick black outline holds all five shapes together and stops the colors bleeding into each other.

Dog owners who are into the patriotic theme love this one, its been one of my better sellers each summer since I added it. I get messages about it on tote bags and pet bandanas especially. Last July 4th week was the busiest stretch for it. Pop cutaway underneath on knit pet bandana fabric so the toe pad outlines stay stable during hooping. Pop it in a 4-inch hoop for the 3 inch size and youll get clean results. Four colors, 5 file sizes scaling 3 to 7 inch.

Stitch on cotton or canvas for the sharpest star detail in those upper pads. The directional fill on the striped section runs horizontally and gives a nice satin finish that looks different to the star fill, so the two halves dont compete visually. Skip very dark fabric if you want the white stripes and stars to show up, they need a lighter base to read properly at the smaller sizes.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Patriotic dog bandanas for July 4thThe 3-4 inch size fits most standard bandana folds without the outline getting squeezed.
  • Pet-themed tote bags for dog mums and dadsOn canvas tote bags the bold black outline keeps the paw readable against any background colour.
  • 4th of July dog collar embellishmentsWorks on collar-width fabric strips at the smaller sizes, the design stays flat without puckering.
  • Vet clinic and groomer branded itemsThe high-contrast flag fill reads well on both light and dark embroidered groomer aprons.
  • Dog lover t-shirts and tank topsCentred on the chest of a white tee it makes a clear statement without needing any text.
  • Patriotic pet photo prop backgrounds on fabricOn muslin or cotton photo-prop backgrounds the texture of the stars shows up nicely.
  • Kids shirts pairing patriotism with their love of dogsKids in the 4-8 age range love the combination, it works on tees and sweatshirts equally.
  • Red, white and blue pet adoption event merchThe four-color thread sequence is simple enough for a quick run on smaller event merchandise.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
