Heres the patriotic unicorn I really really wanted to add to the shop before fourth of july last summer. Customisable cartoon unicorn with a flowing red white and navy mane, kinda just designed it after my niece asked for a 4th july shirt that wasnt the usual flag motif. Its got four colours total running through the design and the 11 sizes give you flexibility from tiny chest accent reaching 7.5-in wide for a tote bag panel.
Stitch count starts at 5898 on the smallest 2.5 inch version and climbs up to 22746 on the full 7.5 one. Density sits at 497 spi which sits at medium fill. pick a roomier hoop and use a fusible cutaway stabiliser for tees, the mane satin needs that firm backing to stop the long bands from waving.
The mane runs as three wide satin bands so trim jump threads close before pressing, the red and navy registration sits tight against the white middle band. Pop wash-away film over textured cotton or terry so the satin doesnt sink. Slow the machine to 800 spm because the mane bands are long and pull can shift on stretchy knit. Stitch this on cream cotton tees, soft jersey, or canvas for the cheerful patriotic look. Avoid heavy denims, the cartoon style reads childlike and the weight clashes with the soft mane lines.
