Its a heart made from a paw print, which sounds simple but the design is actually built quite clever. The outer silhouette is a standard heart shape but the negative space inside is cut away to reveal the paw anatomy, one large round pad at the base and three smaller toe pads across the top. The whole thing stitches as a single solid fill so its genuinely one colour, no thread changes, no colour stops, just a clean dense piece from start to finish.
Density is 547 stitches per square centimetre which is high for a solid fill piece. Thats intentional because the cutout shapes inside need the surrounding fill to hold its edge definition cleanly. Use a cutaway stabiliser, medium weight on stable fabrics like cotton twill or canvas, heavy weight on anything that stretches. I ran this on a dog bandana in a deep burgundy and the toe pads came out sharp even at the smallest size. Stitch counts go from 12945 up to 22583 across the 4 sizes. Skip topping on smooth fabric but add a lil bit of water-soluble topping on fleece or terry cloth to keep the fill from sinking into the pile.
A customer texted me last month with a photo of this on a dog bandana she made as a rescue adoption gift. She said the recipient cried, which I thought was a bit dramatic but honestly I get it. Pick a thread colour that works with the fabric, the single-colour construction means the design relies on contrast, so dark thread on light fabric or vice versa. Add it to a pet tote, a lead pouch, a dog mat corner, or stitch it on a tee for the dog person in your life who already has everything. Text me on the shop chat if the file needs troubleshooting.
What people are using this design for
A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.
- Dog bandanas for pets as adoption or birthday giftsDog bandana rescue adoption gift, a customer texted me a photo and said the recipient cried, which I thought was a bit dramatic but honestly it makes sense for this one.
- Pet lead pouches or treat bags for dog ownersDog lead pouch or treat bag in canvas at the smallest version, a compact square pouch face suits the design shape perfectly.
- Custom tee shirts for pet lover giftsDark burgundy thread on cream fleece as a memorial pet blanket, the underlay under the toe beans is what keeps the shapes clean on a softer base fabric.
- Pet bed corners or blanket edges as a monogram-style accentCanvas tote for a dog park trip with the 5-inch version as a side panel, functional and personal without looking like a novelty item.
- Tote bags for trips to the vet or the dog parkDenim jacket front pocket area as an iron-on patch cut after stitching with a seam allowance border.
- Embroidered patch on a denim jacket for a subtle pet tributePet-themed nursery pillow for families with both a newborn and a dog, the 4-inch version centred on the front panel acknowledges both.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
