Peacock feather drawn as a 2 colour diagonal sweep in aqua and dark navy. The curled tip rises up at the top of the cream linen frame, and the ringed eye sits tucked right next to it. The vane below opens out wide with long curving barbs that arc outward from the spine. No solid plumage anywhere, its all outline linework giving the feather its weight.

Wilcom digitised this as outline satin running stitch, not a packed satin fill. Aqua threads handle 1,601 stitches at the smallest run, dark navy lays 2,486 on top to anchor the spine and rim the eye. Five sizes range from roughly 3 inch through 7 inch wide, with stitch count climbing 4,089 through 9,904. One colour change per size, 17 trims, density logs at 376 which is light, so it wont tank your bobbin.

I get messages from boho shop owners about this peacock motif alot, mostly for canvas pouches and oatmeal linen napkins. Last march a buyer picked up the 6 inch run in muted teal swapped for the aqua, said it read beautifully on natural flax linen tea towels. Those two threads carry the whole composition, so picking shades that contrast your fabric matters more here than thread brand.

Stitch on cream linen, sand canvas, oatmeal cotton, or light grey twill. Swap the aqua to mustard or rust if youre after a warmer boho read. Skip jersey and anything stretchy, the long satin barbs will pucker the moment the cloth shifts. Anchor the cloth with a medium grade cutaway underneath. The barbs themselves dont need heavy backing but the long curving lines do need it to stay flat. Pop water soluble topping over fluffy linen to stop the aqua sinking into the weave. Hit me up if your machine drags on the 6 inch run and ill rework the path thread by thread.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
