Right so its just a cat face peeking over a ledge. The top half of the head, pointed ears up, round eyes staring directly at you, nose and whiskers barely visible, and the rest of the body completely hidden. Thats the whole design and honestly it doesnt need anything more. Only 2 colours which keeps the stitch count low and the stitching fast, and the minimal look is what makes it work so well on everyday items.

Two colours: a warm grey for the main fur areas using satin fill and a darker charcoal for the detail stitching on the ear tips, eye outlines and whisker hints. Density sits at 531 stitches per square inch, controlled and consistent across all 5 sizes. Smallest runs 8,138 stitches at 2.78 inches wide, largest is 23,749 stitches at 5.96 inches wide.

I get messages from cat people every week about this one, always some version of 'my cat does exactly this'. One customer sent me a photo of it stitched on the back pocket of a denim jacket. That was a proper good use of it. The tall narrow proportions also work nicely on tote bag handles and cuffs.

Send me a message if the file doesnt load right and I'll get it sorted for you quickly. Stitch on cream, white or any light mid-tone that wont compete with those warm grey cat fur tones. Use a tearaway stabiliser on woven cotton or denim. Cutaway if you're putting it on any stretch knit.

Sizes run from 2.78 to 5.96 inches wide and 3.51 to 7.51 inches tall so its a fairly upright design. That taller shape is what makes it sit so well on pockets, cuffs and sleeve panels. Send me a message if you hit any issues with the download and Ill get it sorted same day.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Cat lover tote bagsA medium size centred on a canvas tote makes a practical daily bag that cat people will immediately recognise.
  • Denim jacket back pocketsStitched into the back pocket panel of a denim jacket it works as a subtle personalised detail.
  • Pet owner tshirtsOn a plain white or grey tee the peekaboo cat reads instantly as a cat lover piece without any text needed.
  • Cushion coversThe tall proportions fill a small cushion cover nicely as a single centred motif with no other elements.
  • Canvas pencil casesOn a cotton canvas pencil case the cat face acts like a face looking out from the bag pocket.
  • Mug cosiesA small size on a mug cosy or cup holder makes a funny little gift for a cat-owning friend.
  • Tote handle panelsStitched along a wide tote handle panel it peeks out from the side in a way that only you notice.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
