Right so this ones the gold version of the phoenix line art and its a different vibe entirely even though its the same pose. Wings spread, tails streaming down in long ribbon feathers, theres a small decorative crest on the head. But the palettes what makes this one its own thing and its not a subtle change. Rich gold and warm yellow are doing most of the work across the body and wings, then theres pale off-white and silver-cream running through the outer tail feathers and the wing tips. On dark fabric its not just sitting there, its genuinely glowing. Not something Im gonna apologise for saying because its true.

Three colours and theres no fill anywhere, its all line art. The lines are denser than the red version though, 252 stitches per square inch versus 97, so theres more thread presence on the fabric and the feather sections have more visual weight. It still reads as open because theres no fill blocking the base fabric through, but its got more substance. Stitch counts from 8.7 thousand on the small up to 12.5 thousand on the large. Youre looking at 15 to 20 minutes on the biggest one. Wilcom EmbroideryStudio as always and the line directions through the feather fans are consistent, theyre not going choppy at direction changes.

Ive got four sizes, from 3.99 by 4.5 up to 6.65 by 7.5 inches. Dark backgrounds arent just a suggestion here, theyre where this designs actually coming into its own. Black velvet, navy linen, forest green, charcoal fleece, the golds lifting off the surface and its not subtle about it. Ive had a customer put the large version on a black satin evening clutch last month and what shes described back sounded like something youd find in a proper accessories shop, not a home sewing project.

Use a tearaway or medium cutaway depending on what youre working with. Dont put this on pale fabric or youre wasting the palette, the golds not gonna read and itll look flat. Pick a dark base and youll get the full effect. Slow your machine on satin, hoop firmly and dont let the tension slip or the line paths wont line back up.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Black velvet evening clutch or formal bagStitch the large size onto a black satin evening clutch, one customer did this and said it looked like something from an upscale accessories shop
  • Dark navy or black linen cushion for a luxury-themed roomCentre the mid size on a deep navy linen cushion cover, the gold lines sit up off the dark fabric in a way that feels genuinely expensive
  • Wedding gift embroidery on a keepsake pouch or pillowEmbroider onto a cream organza keepsake pouch for a wedding gift, though note dark backgrounds make this one really sing
  • Graduation cap or academic robe hood embellishmentA customer picked this one for her daughters graduation gift, stitched on black velvet and framed as a hoop art piece with a meaningful card
  • Dark denim jacket back panel for a statement piecePut the large size on the back of a dark denim jacket where the gold catches light differently than a coloured print would
  • Charcoal or black sweatshirt chest for a streetwear lookUse the mid size on a charcoal or black sweatshirt chest for a mythology-meets-streetwear look that doesnt scream costume
  • Gold-themed gift for someone marking a milestone birthdayGold symbolism for 50th birthdays, anniversaries, retirement sends, and new-chapter milestones makes this easy to gift with meaning

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
