Its the black outline that defines this one. Each petal has a solid satin border running around its edge, thick enough to read as a graphic element on its own, and then the petal fill sits inside that. The main bloom is large, its petals arranged in a diagonal swirl rather than a symmetrical star, some petals turning back at the tips so you can see both the upper and lower surface. A smaller lily bud sits on a long arching stem above the main flower, and an orange-peach accent bud sits low in the composition. The green leaves curve around the base with the same bold outlined style.

Five colours and 5 stops. Green goes in first, then the salmon pink for lighter petal areas, hot pink for the saturated zones, peach-orange for the accent bud, and black last for all the outline work. The black is doing alot of work in this design. At 7 inches its around 26,000 stitches and that includes a substantial amount of outline satin, so run a stabiliser test before committing to a big batch on an unfamiliar fabric.

Use firm cutaway on any base fabric with even a little give. The heavy satin outline stitches pull the fabric if the stabiliser isnt up to it. Use medium-weight cutaway on woven cotton, denim or canvas. For knit fabrics, hoop with two layers of cutaway and add topping before you run it. A customer who orders regularly for a dance wear business needed this for a competition jacket panel last spring and ran it on spandex using double cutaway and a topping, came out clean. Skip anything loosely woven or sheer, the outline satin density needs a solid base to sit into.

Best on darker or mid-tone base fabrics where the hot pink and black outline combination has maximum contrast. Pale pink on white tends to flatten this one out.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
