These are glowing fantasy mushrooms and theres nothing else in my catalog quite like em. The caps are tall with this domed silhouette, colours running from a pale blush pink at the crown into a deep magenta near the base. Nine colours total, including a couple of near-white highlights that give the mushroom caps that lit-from-within bioluminescent look. Spore dots scatter off the edges and the stems have a subtle curve. Very fairy-tale, very dark-forest vibe.

I digitised this one in Wilcom and the stitch count is up there: 15,707 on the smallest and 36,207 at the full 7.51 inch wide size. Thats a bunch of thread but the density is 972 which I keep controlled so the fabric doesnt pucker. Satin fill across all the caps, directional stitching to catch the light at different angles. Nine colour changes so have your bobbins ready and your thread rack set out before you start.

Use a cutaway stabiliser here, not tearaway. The stitch density is high enough that tearaway will leave the back looking messy and your fabric wont sit flat. Medium-weight cutaway on denim or canvas is my go-to. Slow the machine down near the cap rims because the colour changes happen fast in that zone.

I had one customer order this for a glow-in-the-dark Halloween hoodie last October, she said the pink reads almost neon when the room lights drop. I wouldnt have thought pink on black works that well but it really does. Avoid pale or white backgrounds if you want the glow effect, the contrast is what sells it.

Fits hoops from 3.5 inches to roughly 7.5 inches, nine options total. Works on tote bags, jacket backs, canvas pouches, cushion covers, and cotton wall art hoops.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Denim jacket back panelBlack or dark navy denim makes the pink glow pop, center on the back panel using the 7 inch size.
  • Fantasy tote bagA dark canvas tote lets the magenta tones sing, use the 5 inch size so it fits on the front panel.
  • Decorative hoop artMount in a 8 inch wooden hoop on black fabric and hang as wall art in a kids or fantasy-themed room.
  • Cushion cover accentPop the 5 inch mushrooms onto a dark velvet or cotton cushion cover for a witchy living room accent.
  • Canvas pouch frontFits the front of a zip pouch at the 3.5 inch size, stitch on canvas or denim fabric.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
