This cute playful cat design is a blue-grey striped tabby kitten lying flat, both front paws stretched out ahead, head dropped between its shoulders, looking up with that half-lidded expression cats do when they want attention but wont admit it. The tail curls up at the back end like a question mark. Thirteen colours go into this one and the density shows. At 1,382 stitches per square inch the fur texture is built from layered directional satin fills, each stripe running at a slightly different angle from the one beside it so the coat has actual depth to it.

The outlines are in a heavy black thread that gives it a sketchy comic-book quality. Not in a childish way, more like something a proper illustrator would ink up in a sketchbook. Pink inner ears, a warm cream muzzle with fine whisker line accents, pale sandy feet and a cold blue-grey body with dark tabby markings running the full length. The belly gets a lighter blue shadow fill so the cat reads as three-dimensional without any actual shading thread technique needed.

Four sizes on file, from 3.08 by 4.5 inches to 5.13 by 7.5 inches. Stitch counts run from 31k up to 53k so set aside proper machine time for the large size, its a chunky run. Use a medium to heavy cutaway stabiliser on woven fabrics. Cotton twill, denim and canvas hold this density well. Float a topping layer on anything with a nap so the fine stripe lines dont sink.

Mid-tone fabric colours work best, things like oatmeal, slate blue, sage green or soft charcoal. The design has its own light belly so it doesent need a white base. Avoid very light or white backgrounds if you want the cream muzzle and sandy feet to stay readable against the base fabric. Grab the 5-inch for a tote, the medium for a sweatshirt back panel, and the small for a patch or pocket placement. Friends keep messaging about this one pretty regularly, people who ordered the medium size first and then came back to order the bigger version. Had someone message just last week saying they made five matching pouches for a cat-obsessed family birthday and every single one came out clean. Ping me if the colour sequence looks off after your first thread change, ill have a look.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
