Stitched this out as the detailed realistic version of a pumpkin, the kind where youre actually trying to get depth and shading rather than just recognisable shape. Six colours, 6 colour changes, 7 stops. The upper lobe gets a warm yellow highlight at 926 stitches, the orange body section runs at nearly 2,000 stitches for the 2-inch size alone, the shadow layer is a deeper terracotta, and the black outline at 2,054 stitches wraps the whole thing at the end.

5 sizes starting at 2 inches up to 6 inches wide, stitch range is 9,446 at the smallest and 38,827 at the largest. That top number is high because six-colour fill coverage adds up quickly. Density is 1,093 which means this one wants a proper cutaway stabiliser, no exceptions. The stem gets a separate brown rayon pass with its own curl detail at 750 stitches on the 2-inch hoop.

One customer ordered a 4-in size on a set of oatmeal linen napkins for a Thanksgiving table setting and the colour layering on that compact size was suprisingly clean, the highlight and shadow reads even at 4 inches. I didnt expect it to hold that well.

Run this on a dark denim apron front at the 4-inch size, a kraft canvas trick-or-treat bag, or a dark chocolate brown tote in October. The 6-colour palette is flexible enough that you can swap terracotta for burnt sienna or pumpkin spice brown thread and the design holds together. Set the 6-inch size onto oatmeal linen and mount it framed for a seasonal autumn display. Skip sheer or lightweight fabrics entirely, density at 38,000 stitches needs a base that can carry it.

What people are using this design for

A starting point. The design works for plenty more than just this list, this is what folks have stitched it onto most.

  • Thanksgiving table napkins and linensLinen dinner napkins for a Thanksgiving table setting with the 4-inch version in full 6-colour palette hold the colour layering well even at that compact size.
  • Halloween trick-or-treat bag embellishmentKraft canvas trick-or-treat bags with the 5-inch pumpkin in terracotta and tangerine orange are a perennial October craft fair seller.
  • Autumn kitchen apron front panelKitchen aprons in dark brown or forest green get the 4-inch pumpkin on the front bib panel, the yellow highlight and terracotta shadow read clearly against dark base fabrics.
  • Fall gift wrap fabric or seasonal tote bagsFabric gift-wrap squares in cotton muslin with the small 2-inch version in harvest orange are a zero-waste gift wrap alternative sold at autumn markets.
  • Harvest festival merchandise and craft fair itemsHarvest festival vendors selling handmade items use this as a repeating print-and-stitch motif on small pouches and wristlets from late September through november.
  • Seasonal cushion or pillow cover in warm autumn tonesCushion covers in burnt sienna or oatmeal linen with the 5-inch pumpkin centred make a seasonal autumn living room swap that people bring back out each year.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
