Two jack-o-lanterns sitting side by side with a big looping bow connecting them at the top, like theyre a set. Left pumpkin has a winking squint face with a sharp-edged smile. Right one has a wider grin, eyes open, expression more of a surprised happy. Both filled in orange satin with a darker shadow on the right side of each body to give some rounding. The ribbon above sits in three open loops and a knot, all rendered in that same orange outline style so it reads as ribbon not a flower. Small black star bursts and four-pointed asterisks dotted around for interest.
Honestly one of the simpler halloween designs I stock in terms of colour count, just 7 colours and 6 stops, but the result is clean and really versatile. The biggest size tops out at 39k stitches. Smaller sizes down to 3.5 inch hold detail well because the pumpkin faces are bold and chunky not intricate.
And theres a practical reason to love the small colour count. If youre doing a batch run of 20 bags for a school event, fewer thread swaps means you get through the batch faster without sacrificing the finished look. I get asks from folks doing exactly that every october, teachers and school mums mostly.
Drop a medium cutaway under on black cotton jersey for the bigger sizes and it sits beautifully flat. Tearaway is fine on woven canvas and denim. The ribbon section sits in a satin column and needs stable fabric underneath, dont try it on loosely woven material without a topping or the stitches sink in.
Works on black, white, cream, navy and grey. The orange pops on all of those. Skip patterned backgrounds because the ribbon detail disappears into busy prints. And thats about it, pretty forgiving design to run.
