Put together this radiant sun specifically because the plain single-colour sun outline designs just dont have the same presence on a shirt. This one uses three colours, orange, yellow and red, layered to create that warm glow effect where the sun looks like its genuinely hot and radiating. The rays arent perfectly uniform either, they vary slightly in curve and width which makes the whole thing feel less digital and more hand-drawn.
Three colours with 2 colour changes. No black outlines at all in this design, its entirely warm tones which gives it a softer more natural look. Five sizes, starting at about 2 inches and going up to 6 inches square. Stitch count at the large end is 20,564 which is solid but not extreme given the dense tatami fill on the centre disc and the ray sections.
I get orders for this one year round but it really picks up in spring. Last april I had a run of orders for it on linen tote bags for a small coastal market stall, the seller told me the colour really held beautifully after the bags got washed, which realy is what you want to hear about a 3-colour design.
Back woven cotton or linen with tearaway. Use cutaway under any stretch jersey or cotton knit as the ray fill can pull without proper stabiliser underneath. Watch your bobbin tension on the orange fill sections, that one runs the longest in the stitch sequence.
Try on white, cream, navy, charcoal and sand backgrounds. Avoid terracotta or orange fabrics since the design colours will blend right in and lose definition.

About the artist
Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site
Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.
That's the joy I work for.
The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
