Five big satin stripes arching over two soft clouds. Thats really all this is and it works every single time. The arc goes red, orange, yellow, teal, then a wide purple band at the bottom. The clouds sitting at each end are grey-white with a loose diagonal fill that gives them that puffy cotton texture. At 7.5 inches wide on the biggest size its actually quite bold for a nursery piece, not tiny and cute, more like a proper focal point.

I made this specifically for baby shower gifts and nursery decor. Mums keep messaging me asking what fabric to use and honestly its white jersey bibs and onesies every time, maybe cream cotton muslin swaddles. The rainbow pops against white and the grey clouds dont disappear. Pop the chest 3.5 size on a bib and the bigger 7.5 on a personalised nursery cushion cover, works brilliantly either way.

Eight colour changes total but they move quickly, each satin band is just one colour top to bottom. professional digitising tools digitised these as individual arc sections so the bobbin thread barely shows on the back. I sent this file to a customer last month who was making a whole rainbow nursery set, she stitched it on 4 different items. She said the colour changes took 8 minutes total on her machine. So its not as fiddly as 8 colours sounds.

Use a medium poly-mesh under on woven. For jersey or minky, go cutaway because stretch will distort those clean arc edges if the backing gives. Hoop snug, the wide satin runs need stability at both ends. Send me a note if the colours arent matching your thread brand and I can suggest substitutions.

About the artist

Reyazul Masud Riham, hand-drawing every design on this site

Every design on Re Embroidery is hand-digitized by one person. Each file gets sketched, color-matched, and stitch-tested on real fabric before it earns a place in the shop. No team. No auto-conversion from images. Just slow, deliberate work, sometimes three or four days per design.

That's the joy I work for.

The hard part is finding my designs re-uploaded and resold elsewhere. So when you buy from Re Embroidery, you're paying one real person for the file you're about to download. That matters.
